2. The Oswego SBDC, Oswego State University, (315) 341 7670, is manned by a staff of professional small business advisors who can assist you with many business questions and planning. Advisors have both formal business training and small business operational experience which enables them to offer objective advise based on both education and previous experience. Advisors can assist with the development of a formal written business plan which can be used as an operation guide for the business or as a tool for acquiring financing from a lending institution.

Other services offered by this SBDC include small business startup information, advertising, networking and promotional assistance, financial statement development, and record keeping assistance. A 21-hour intensive small business training program is available (The Micro Enteprise Training Program). Businesses that go through the training, write a viable business plan and locate within the city of Oswego can apply for up to $10,000 from the city of Oswego's Community Develoment Office.
